Reid did all the right things in the process of asking Katie for her hand in marriage. You honestly probably won't believe this story because it's the stuff of fiction. Not many men carry chivalry in their back pocket like he does.
I may be a little inaccurate because this is all oral history at this point so they can correct me if I'm wrong:
It all started with Reid giving Katie a cute bikini and ticket for a trip to the BVIs for Christmas. Meanwhile and unbeknownst to everyone, he purchased a gorgeous ring from Bailey's, a store that originated in her home town. In January, he brought the ring with him to ask Katie's parents for their blessing and of course they said yes. A few days later, he flew her down and they spent a few days together before he proposed to her on the beach right near the Soggy Dollar Bar in White Bay. I don't know how he was able to keep a secret to himself during the trip but he did it. All of us at home were waiting for that FaceTime call that delivered the happy news and we swore it felt like weeks went by. Anticipation is a funny thing. The chivalry doesn't end there though...Reid then participated (with no complaints) in a two-hour photo shoot so we could get some photo options for their save-the-dates! There's no doubt Reid loves her by the way he looks at her in every photo, but who are we kidding, look at Katie—She's beautiful, sweet and has a heart of gold so Reid knows he's a lucky man! Katie is my boyfriend's little sister so by default, I am biased. But I've never met a soul who didn't like her so she's a wonder woman and will make an incredible wife.
This photo shoot took place at his family farm in Knightdale, NC and it was the perfect backdrop because this is where their reception will take place in a few short months! I'm so thankful to God for introducing these people in my life, for their love and friendship and cannot wait to be a part of their wedding as a bridesmaid on the fourteenth of October. The only photos I will be taking are ones for my memory—taking it all in.
Katie and Reid, I cannot wait to grow fat and old with you two, go to BBQs in your backyard, play a million games of Asshole with a bottle of wine, and babysit your beautiful future babies. Heartfelt congratulations belong to you both— I love y'all and wish you a happy, healthy, and harmonious life together.
