I don't even know where to begin... So much of what made Kayla and Vann's wedding special lies in the sweet moments. Kayla had a reveal with both her little brother and her dad separately and both of these moments were tearful and full of love. When Kayla was escorted down the aisle, Vann had this look on his face that I was forced to bite my tongue so I didn't cry. He was looking at her with such happiness and pride. There was no doubt that he could not wait one moment longer to be her husband. Another one of my favorite moments was when I was capturing Kayla and Vann's portraits during sunset. They would do the silliest poses to make each other laugh and they truly enjoyed these moments alone they had together on their wedding day. I was so struck by their chemistry with each other throughout the engagement process—I have conviction that they will carry this chemistry and spark for the rest of their lives.
The celebration after the vows was definitely a show-stopper and that's all thanks to The Al Williams Band. Almost all of Kayla and Vann's guests were soulful dancers... so soulful that even during the break music, they were whipping out their synchronized dance moves to classic songs. I truly enjoyed every moment capturing Kayla and Vann's wedding day and wish them a long lifetime of health, happiness and love. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster! Here is a HUGE collection of their day so get some tissues because you're about to see two soul mates whom are perfect for each other.
Huge thanks to these team of vendors for helping the Lancasters get married!

After another precious reveal between Kayla and her dad, she preceded to open letters from all her bridesmaids.... What a thoughtful gesture! My heart could barely handle all the moments of sincerity.

Congratulations to the GORGEOUS Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster. Their wedding this past Saturday was one. for. the. books. #hoponthevannwagon #sneakpeeks
Kayla makes an absolutely exquisite bride, there is no doubt about that. Every photo of her in this bridal collection radiates with beauty. Between her pearly whites, her golden curls, her stunner ring, her colorful bouquet, the flair of her gown, every very single detail of her is divine. Kayla's bridal portraits took place at the Robin's Nest in Grimesland, North Carolina, but she married her soul mate last night in Snow Hill. The wedding story will be told later with her wedding collection, but today is her first day as Mrs. Vann Lancaster and I couldn't be more happy for her and her husband!! Thank you for giving me the honor of capturing the most romantic and blissful wedding of all time.
Reid did all the right things in the process of asking Katie for her hand in marriage. You honestly probably won't believe this story because it's the stuff of fiction. Not many men carry chivalry in their back pocket like he does.
I may be a little inaccurate because this is all oral history at this point so they can correct me if I'm wrong:
It all started with Reid giving Katie a cute bikini and ticket for a trip to the BVIs for Christmas. Meanwhile and unbeknownst to everyone, he purchased a gorgeous ring from Bailey's, a store that originated in her home town. In January, he brought the ring with him to ask Katie's parents for their blessing and of course they said yes. A few days later, he flew her down and they spent a few days together before he proposed to her on the beach right near the Soggy Dollar Bar in White Bay. I don't know how he was able to keep a secret to himself during the trip but he did it. All of us at home were waiting for that FaceTime call that delivered the happy news and we swore it felt like weeks went by. Anticipation is a funny thing. The chivalry doesn't end there though...Reid then participated (with no complaints) in a two-hour photo shoot so we could get some photo options for their save-the-dates! There's no doubt Reid loves her by the way he looks at her in every photo, but who are we kidding, look at Katie—She's beautiful, sweet and has a heart of gold so Reid knows he's a lucky man! Katie is my boyfriend's little sister so by default, I am biased. But I've never met a soul who didn't like her so she's a wonder woman and will make an incredible wife.
This photo shoot took place at his family farm in Knightdale, NC and it was the perfect backdrop because this is where their reception will take place in a few short months! I'm so thankful to God for introducing these people in my life, for their love and friendship and cannot wait to be a part of their wedding as a bridesmaid on the fourteenth of October. The only photos I will be taking are ones for my memory—taking it all in.
Katie and Reid, I cannot wait to grow fat and old with you two, go to BBQs in your backyard, play a million games of Asshole with a bottle of wine, and babysit your beautiful future babies. Heartfelt congratulations belong to you both— I love y'all and wish you a happy, healthy, and harmonious life together.
The ladies of La Señorita Jolie, also known as, LSJ are one of my favorite repeat clients in Charlotte. The owners are sisters named Julia and Jen Dixon and they essentially own a women's clothing company that encourages you to start your own fashion business with a marketing focus on trunk and runway shows. They describe their clothes as "elegant, boutique-style casual wear created for the #ADVENTURE that is life" and I couldn't agree more with that description! Last month these beauts put on some of their own clothes for a summer edition photo shoot. They look gorgeous in every way. Go shop LSJ!
They even put on blue clothes to promote that they are giving a percentage of sales toward Autism Awareness Month!
Baby Will was born on March 22, 2017 and a few weeks ago I captured him at about 2 weeks old. His mama, big sister and furry best friend were all there to give him some love during these very special portraits. I am eternally grateful to this beautiful family for allowing me to document this precious milestone. Can you believe you're officially a family of four?
