I kindly ask for coverage to the cent/mile round trip for weddings and portraits outside of Wilmington. This pricing has varied due to the unpredictability of gas prices.
For international travel, that varies on location and time of year!
If lodging or airfare is required, that would include a varying additional fee.

I worked for wedding photographers in high school and college but started my own business, Visuals By Helen in January 2014, and rebranded to Visuals By Helen Powell in January 2022.

You will receive an online gallery from which you can digitally download individual photos to your device or download the whole album on a computer.Depending on the package you book, you may also receive an USB or album.

For weddings, you will receive your entire gallery within 6-8 weeks. However, I love making sure my couples at least get a few sneak peeks within 72 hours of their wedding day. For family portrait session, it is about a two week turnaround.

Absolutely! With your permission of course. I love bragging about my amazing clients! You will be made aware if your photos are submitted and/or published for any print, magazines, blogs, etc. so we can celebrate together!

You will have a print release to print your photos from any source.
However, you will also have the ability to order high quality prints directly through your online gallery! This includes prints, canvas, metal prints, & more!

You know it! I can send you an example set of itineraries based on the coverage you want or if you don't know how long you want your photographer, I send various day-of-wedding timelines so you can better envision you want your special day to go.

If you are one of my booked couples, you received a complimentary engagement session right in Wilmington! Keep. it. simple. Don't overthink it. You want your love and raw emotions to be the focal point of the photos not your clothes. Wearing a flashy or complicated outfit will distract from the love that brought you here in the first place.

Let me go ahead and tell you. Not a huge fan of the matching white shirt and khakis. Each person in your family has personality! Let them show it off through their clothes. You can definitely complement each other by respecting color families that work well together or doing spots of same color in hat, shirt, shoes, etc.

For family, weddings and beach portraits we do not use watermarks. For children's heirloom portraiture, we do use watermarks until your print orders are processed to protect the integrity and process of our work. We trust our clients to give credit when necessary by tagging us on social media and telling their friends about their experience with us!

For portrait sessions, it is a non-refundable 50% retainer. For weddings, there is a non-refundable retainer fee of $500 is required to book your wedding date. After that the final balance is due 30 days before the wedding or you can set up a payment plan with us!

It varies on the season and type of session or event. We have associate photographers too so don't be afraid to ask. You never know if the stars will align!
