Smitten by the sea. A gorgeous sunset engagement session at Carolina Yacht Club in Wrightsville Beach, NC.

Mary-Alice and Will got married this past weekend so this is the perfect time to highlight their romantic engagement session from last October. They even brought their beautiful lab puppy Addie for a few photos before handing off to Will's mama, which was perfect so they could focus on just the two of them afterward. (You can only bring leashed dogs on Wrightsville Beach in the off season just FYI, so October was perfect timing for this).

The evening started out with some wind, which created some amazing hair flow for these lovebirds, the texture making for a lovely contrast against the deep blue calm Atlantic ocean behind them. The wind was blowing down the beach so the waves were still calm while the sun came from the other side—an idyllic combo you can only get during the Fall season!

Mary-Alice and I go way back. We went to UNC-Chapel Hill together and were on the photo staff of the Daily Tar Heel newspaper for several years. We stayed in touch over the years and I even asked if she could help me with a wedding in Atlantic Beach during Covid and she did a splendid job. We had so much fun working together. Being a photographer for a photographer is the highest honor so it was so sweet to be a part of her and Will's day at the Dunes Club in Atlantic Beach on March 19th.

Mary-Alice and Will met online but had a bajillion mutual friends so they hit it off right away and their chemistry was insane. Will doted on his fiance throughout the entire engagement session and it shows in every photo. *SWOONING* They knew they were having a coastal wedding so it made every bit of sense to have an engagement session in the sand and surf.

Enjoy this collection of beauty from yours truly.

Nothing like a holding hands shot to make you feel their connection.
