This sunset session was as spontaneous as it comes.

Sydney, Cameron and their son Wilson were visiting friends in Wilmington last month when they decided to get their first ever portraits as a family on a Sunday before going back home to Charlotte! I mean they were so spontaneous they had to borrow their son Wilson's outfit from their friends who also had kids. Love that they know how to already fly by the seat of their pants and get those precious fleeting memories captured. I was so honored to be a part of their first portraits as a family of three (well four if you count the doggo) because Sydney is a painter and artist and owns her own company @durrett_designs so it was amazing to be amongst a creative and capture her beautiful family in their element during sunset in Wrightsville Beach. Their dog Sir Raleigh, also known as Sir, was absolutely hilarious because you can tell he was used to being the star of the family and had an adjustment sharing the attention with his new brother. This session came at the perfect time though because it was right before the no-dog mandate was about to go into effect during the peak season in Wrightsville Beach...So why not get both kids? Wilson, a seven month old at the time, thrived by the water, a sure sign of fun outdoor baby/toddler times ahead. So grateful to the Faulkner family for this sweet and salty evening by the sea.
